The global economy is seeing the benefits of smart, creative and innovative cities. New ideas are the desired currency and new ways of collaborating is the business model of choice. What's also becoming evident is that the breaking down of service or industry silos is helping build community and foster a relationship that connects people with their home, work and play.
Curwoods Laywers, located in the heart of Sydney's CBD, specialise in insurance and commercial law. But you would be wrong in assuming a corporate sterile environment void of creativity. Over the past 40 years, Curwoods has been ahead of the pack, fostering creativity from within and promoting it as a point of difference. It's a part of their culture,
"An artist can create a masterpiece that stands the test of time. They make it look easy, but it’s talent, along with many years of experience, that allows them to gain a reputation as an expert in their field. These are the same attributes many people want from a law firm..." - Curwoods Lawyers website
What's most impressive is their Artist-in-Residence program, now in its seventh year, provides the opportunity for emerging local artists to showcase their work in one of Sydney's most iconic locations, Australia Square. This year, the artist is Phoebe Boyle, from the College of Fine Arts, and her work will be on display 30 July - 09 August 2013.
As well as providing an opportunity for the artist, the program also supports Sydney Rotary and its New Generations program aimed at providing experiential and developmental opportunities to a range of deserving young people in the community.
